We all see them. Signs on doors and at entrances to neighborhoods that say "No Solicitation" and/or "No Flyers/Handbills". What does this really mean to you and your business?
No-Solicitation can be ambiguous to the general public. The truth is, solicitors are anyone that comes to your home, knocks on the door and tries to sell you something. It is NOT leaving a flyer or advertisement on your door. The U.S. Supreme Court has decided on this many times in various types of door to door sales cases. In the State of Colorado, very few jurisdictions consider flyers a form of door to door soliciting. In general, delivering flyers to a home is not soliciting and therefore the signs and notices do not apply. We, however, leave it to the client to let us know if they want us to skip homes with this notice or not.
No-Handbills & No-Flyers is a different subject! These signs have become popular with the awareness of homeowners for the above mentioned facts. When we are delivering flyers in the Denver area and we come to a home with a sign that states "No Handbills" or "No Flyers", we skip that home. However, if it is posted at the entrance to a neighborhood we disregard it unless it is gated. This is honestly unenforceable.
Denver Door2Door takes the rights of residents in a neighborhood seriously, and therefore we follow these guidelines as a flyer delivery service in Denver. Our goal is not to cause problems for our clients or our neighbors, it is to help our clients connect with our neighbors.
